Credit Card Search Help
Both the credit card search form located in the top navigation bar throughout the CardPick.net site and the advanced card search are powered by a boolean algorithm.
Notes on Boolean Searches:
- Boolean searches allow you to use “and” and “or” as operators, and to group them with parenthases “( )”
- A boolean search “auto or hotel” would return all results which contain either the word “auto” or the word “hotel“
- You can also use parenthases to group combinations “( )”
- A boolean search for “(cashback or travel) and reward “ would find all results which contain either “cashback” or “travel“, only so long as they also contain the word “reward“.
Searching for Credit Card Offers @ CardPick.net:
Searchable Card Fields:
- The Credit Card Name (eg. Chase Platinum Visa Card)
- The Credit Card Issuer’s Description (eg. Now featuring great low rates and cashback rewards. With a low introductory apr rate xxxx card …)
** It is worth noting tht the use of the words credit, card, credit card or credit cards is completely redundant when searching for card offers in our database!
While at first it may seem tempting to type searches of the form “business credit cards” or “airline rewards credit cards” it should be understood;
Every card offer in our database contains each of these words in the title or description somewhere.
To get the best search results start with broad single word keyword searches such as these popular searches;
- business
- student
- low interest
- travel
- reward or rewards
- american express (not Amex … we do NOT use amex in our card titles)
- visa
- mastercard (a search for master card or mastercard will yield the same results)
- balance transfer
- auto (use auto instead of the word “car” in your searches. All references in our database to vehicle rebates or vehicle rewards are grouped under the term “auto“)
Located at the bottom of each results page you will find a search form where you are able to “search within” the results you have just found. Use this “search within” function to narrow your results if the system returns too many results from your initial broad search.
User’s may also search using keywords such as “SubaruBucks” or “frequent flyer“. Please remember that if you are not getting the results you desire that the best option is always to broaden your search using smaller keyword / keyphrase combinations and then searching within these results using the “search within” form.
The use of CAPITAL LETTERS or small letters is irrelevant
User’s may also attach card status level keywords to their initial search as well. Use any of the following keywords with your search to narrow the initial results. These keywords are always present in the card name which is one of the searchable fields in our card database;
- Gold [ marked as
]
- Platinum [ marked as
]
- Signature [ marked as
]
- Bronze [ marked as
]
- World [ marked as
]
eg. platinum visa, chase platinum
* Exception: cards with a “regular” status do not contain the word regular in their card name or card description. No special keywords are associated with these cards and no additional words can be added to a search to specifically find cards with a regular status.
Cards that are regular status are denoted by a: icon in directory categories.

Known Bugs with Search Function:
- Searching for the keyword “chase” yields results that contain the word “purchase” in their description as well as the implied ”chase credit cards” results you would expect from the system. The reason is that the boolean search parses the word purchase and recognizes the keyword “chase” as a suffix to purchase. Since so many cards have “0 % introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers a number of irrelevant results may be returned. Use the “search within” function to work around this bug and refine your search results to exclude the extraneous results.
